If man sees servitude as slavery to an uncaring or non exstent superior being .and considers oneself as the final judge of everything . this is to rule out everything and everyone else and therefore be totally independent, completely balanced and free and this is nonsensical as well as it is self destructive because carnal man is not a real god and seeks only to glorify himself and his insatiable desires.
There is always a counterbalancing force for everything in the universe. Even GOD seems to need a creative force as part of His existence in order to allow a balance within himself. If God is Self sustaining what need does he have for us, our world and indeed our entire universe and beyond. If GOD seems to be hurtful ,angry and destructive it is likely that he is loving peaceful and creative ;
But the counterbalancing force of creation and himself was part of him and his posterity and having separate requirements, thoughts, desires and free will, came to be in opposition to his balance/counterbalance plan and would eventually return to emptiness and chaos.
God must also love himself and his works and therefore protect his balanced plan from contamination by a revolution against his rule as the only true " philosopher king " (Plato's republic )
It is nothing new for a conflict between a republic and democracy to destroy an empire with a God and/or his family to reflect man's plight, real or imagined from within and from without.
History as we know it and civilization as we have been able to unearth it thus far. seems to affect understanding of the past through the transmission of knowledge and mythology as well as the inescapable, inseparable and " eternal " connection to the heavens and the earth.
Keeping with the connection of Getting " This way down to earth " Please note the problems here and now internationally with the " Near east " the " East " the " West " and the " New world " for "openers " before we are forced to go " all in " in our gamble on men's resurrection on a new heaven and earth from the great casino in the sky.
As for consideration of history and man's interpretation and understanding what of early man may have or may not have understood as sacred and what its Elohim ( rulers, judges and priestly class etc.) chose to have him believe . As in the here and now it may be deduced mankind follows the same " human nature " of acting in his own best interest ( survival ) starting from the top down of power and influence ( the body rules the mind) i.e. the beast rules the spirit in man..
A glaring example is to be found in the stories that have come from the earliest records to date of the earliest civilizations discovered by man so far. =The Sumerians. Many parallels can be found in the stories of the Holy Bible and and those of Babylon and the Canaanites etc. Enlil and Enki eventually became El and Bal and good and evil were ascribed to God and Satan. Yes counterbalancing forces with the Elohim are still not understood by sons of man
