LOGOS by best definition==is the spoken ( "verbum") word as well as the Genesis/Wisdom of all that exists. In common language and common sense. God is Love; Love/Wisdom/Logos best becomes fruition through faith and hope.
An "Agnostics" belief that " God is ultimately unknown and therefore unknowable" is more reasonable' if one considers that a "Watch maker theory" claims that God made the watch (Universe), wound it up and let it run. Also there is the "Gnostic" concept that only a few chosen people have a secret sacred knowledge of God.
A concept that still exists from before the "Word"/logos was first used until the diverse churches of today claimed ownership of it. Even in the "Christian" churches and neo-Christian beliefs there was more discord over the "Word" and its meaning than there is agreement.
Take into mind the consideration of Evil and it soon becomes a paradox within a paradigm for one to fathom the concept of the Wisdom of Love. Specially considering the histories of how the "Word" was brought down through man at all, from the genesis to the modern world, through bloody conquest and domination to become civilization as it is today. The translation of Logos as the Word conveniently reinforces the New Testament as the Word of god, of the Holy Bible of the Old Testament and both were "canonized" during the same era leaving the "Jewish" Messiah to be fulfilled and the Christian savior to come again spiritually. The Son of man becomes a form of "Elohim" or Son of God. The Elohim throughout the Holy Bible is referred to at various instances as a Lord and/or ,judge or anthropomorphic Son of God and as a Lord over man by "Divine right" There is also the god of this world and the one true God of all creation.,

the I AM the true beginning and end of all existence. The "Logos " may be viewed as the creative energy of God that brings it all together in various forms and exercises a balance between otherwise chaotic forces of energy in a meaningless emptiness of timeless space. without any other conscious awareness other than the Creator God ,his spiritual realm and his guard of "living beasts" .
This seems to defy description as does God except for ancient Greek myth of Titans much like a "flaming sword" that prevents our return to paradise. Although ! There still remains a small village in the country now known as Yemen and it is called "Aden " which is translated to refer to a lush grassy area and was once an important trading port at a strategic point in the "Gulf of Aden" at he tip of the " Red Sea " It is a dormant prehistoric, volcanic peninsula which could explain a " flaming sword " preventing a return to the garden which once may have existed but is forever lost to mankind .
This also is within the geographical area of ancient Sumer considered the origin of the cradle of civilization, before " Babylon " A little research into ancient history and geography begins to unravel a story passed down through thousands of years and into what geographical evidence is extant to support the stories attempted to be exclaimed in the in the conflicting accounts of " Genesis " of God and also helps make sense of a " Canaanite " Supreme God " EL "and to the "Sons of God " referred to as== "Elohim " ---Please refer to the preceding link .

Babylon was actual overrun and destroyed by a group of primitive tribes from the mountains who spoke an unintelligible, gibberish (to the civilized nation) So I babble on. (smile) Also there is the linguistics issue whereby the language referred to as Samarian which survived from Acadia which itself was within the area of Babylon as the preferred language of Joshua (Jesus). Sumer, Sumarian, Samarian, Samraria, Samaritan, Syria, Assyria, summer, etc. why get confused with " words " ? . ( smile ) .
There is a reason why there is a record of events that has come down to this age from tribal times through many civilizations. and there is a reason for every season as there is the history in nature. Man seems to have always attempted to explain himself to himself as gods or God ( or both ). So it is in the Old and New Testaments .
It is likely that Sumer was not the first great civilization.
Civilization appears to arise from "The Sons of Cain" more so than the "Sons of Man" (Adam).
Even modern technology arises largely from experiments in better warfare but in matters of the mind we are still gods largely reliant on the Ancient Greeks for understanding yet we still struggle between physical and emotional (mind/body) relationships and this thing we call spirituality; Yet there is a primitive basis in it all. It is only through the investigating the paradox within the paradigms that mankind collectively finds some answers within the "organized chaos" of our total being because we are not the beginning nor the end of all that exists. Consider also that the concepts of good and evil are ell to often relative terms depending on the the " norms " of a society, tribe, or government etc.
